Getting Rich Vs. The Rat Race

getting rich vs. the rat race

Interested in getting rich? All success comes down to this: people who achieve success do things that people who aren’t rich refuse to do. So, if you’re not rich but you want to be, that means you’re going to have to make a change. Let’s take a look at how rich people curate their lives for success!

What’s Your Motivation?

First of all, you have to look at what’s motivating you. Although a huge part of that motivation is money itself, there should be more to it than that. For Shane and Rachel, a huge motivating factor was the freedom and flexibility that their work allows them to have. Once you know what’s motivating you, you can start making some of those changes that will help you get rich.

Tips for Getting Out of the Rat Race

Here are some top tips for getting out of the rat race and getting on your way to financial success!

  • Invest money in yourself. Instead of spending money on booze, partying, and lattes, use your spending money for personal development. This could be in the form of books, educational courses, and/or conferences. Work on yourself like it’s a part-time job.
  • Give up TV! Better yet, take a cleanse from all media for 90 days. Instead of watching TV, take time to read autobiographies and listen to audiobooks. Forget the news. Use your free time to absorb motivation and positivity. Make this your new habit instead of going home every night and turning on your TV. Personal development is a much healthier habit that will put you on the road to success.
  • Set a goal. Don’t think realistically. Aim high and then work tirelessly until it happens. You don’t necessarily have to work really hard. You just have to be consistent. Don’t think about failure as an option—don’t see yourself as “trying.” Know that success is possible! If you aim for your goal nonstop, you’re going to hit it.
  • Visualize your success. Think about how you would spend your riches and how your life could change for the better. Don’t think about what would happen if you achieve your goals. Think about it as if it’s happening right now.
  • Break free from normality. You can’t succeed when you’re following the herd. Choose to be different. So, when you’re doing all of the above tips, you’re already making choices that set you apart from the average person.
  • Surround yourself with successful people. It’s been said that your income will end up being the average of the five people you hang out with the most. If that’s true, are you happy with that income? Start surrounding yourself with wealthier people who are living the life you want. Choose to learn from them.

When you do all of these things, you’re taking a huge step toward bettering your current circumstances! You don’t have to be in the rat race forever!
