Successful mompreneur, Lee Anne Bartlett balances business and fun

Shane Krider’s Mind Power – the Ultimate Mompreneur success story: Lee Anne Bartlett.

I love to learn from the difference-makers in life. I love to hear their stories, where they started from and how they achieved their success. I’ve struggled with a lot of things in my life – unnecessarily so – and there are things I’ve been able to learn from others that have given me the inside scoop on what it really takes to be successful. By absorbing those lessons and developing new strengths I was able to transform my life.

My guest today is one of those amazingly successful people we can all learn from. Lee Anne Bartlett is a prosperous mompreneur who has built a booming business while caring for two young kids.

She started off in our Prosperity of Life business 7.5 years ago, part-time and reached income goals of USD$43k/month. A MONTH! Since deciding to work the business full-time Lee Anne has reached a consistent annual income of $800K/ year. Really inspiring figures there!

But what is most impressive to me, is Lee Anne’s figured out a way to not be locked in the office working all the time. She gets out, invests in fitness, does the school run, is an avid world traveler and lives the entrepreneur dream lifestyle. It’s one thing to make the money and another to get all other areas in your life into alignment.

Lee Anne owned a franchise for ten years, working 60-70 hours, her children (then two-months and two-years old) were living in childcare. She confesses she was stressed, overweight and time poor. She was $1million in debt and knew something had to change. And that’s when she found Prosperity of Life and made the decision to start the business part-time.

She knew she had to give something up short term, to create what she wanted to long term – financial and time freedom.

“I made the decision to put the groundwork in from day one and give up a bit of stuff here and there, give up family time now to gain it later. I became a multi-tasking queen!”

Finding success as a young mum, running two businesses, with no spare cash was challenging. Not just that, her exact situation at the start was what majority of wannabe entrepreneurs use as excuses not to start, or to opt out early. Lee Anne never saw it that way and found a system that absolutely worked for her. Obviously. Check our those results!

Here are Lee Anne’s top tips:

1. Multi-task! Hone this skill and you’re winning. Lee Anne goes to school pick up an hour earlier to beat the queues, grabs the front spot and works from her car to ensure ever spare minute is utilized. “I’m first one in and first one outta there! I figured out this is the best time effective strategy to squeeze in some extra business time and eliminates all stress.”

2. Working holidays – Discipline is required here, but travel is the best investment you can make for yourself and your family. So Lee Anne books several overseas trips with her family every year, but gets up early and stays up late to keep on target with her business. Every day is booked with family quality time, but the business never suffers.

3. Be super organized – schedule your day down to the minute. Include everything from when to shower, eat, pedicure, school pick up. But start with the fun things first. “I put in my personal stuff first – hair, nails, family time, school, and then I schedule my work stuff around that. But I make sure I get it done. If I don’t’ get everything done during the day, then I’ll stay up later and finish it off.”

4. Build a new habit – fill in every minute of spare time. Instead of sitting on the couch, get in the habit of thinking – what business activity could I be doing? “ My personal and relaxation stuff is already booked in, so I know it’s going to happen, so spare time goes straight to business.”

5. Get clear on your why – get absolute clarity around what you want to create and why. The how is then going to take care of itself.

My biggest takeaway from this momepreneur powerhouse is you’ve got to have the guts to do it. What some people use as excuses, use it as motivation to ensure you create all that family time, income and lifestyle in the future. Stay disciplined, get organized, take action and back yourself to win. And before you know it you’ll be on track to your best possible life!
