How To Get More Energy in Three Simple Steps

Ever Wondered How To Get More Energy That Lasts All Day?

You know I’ve been asking myself “how to get more energy” for the past couple of years. Maybe its a combination of motherhood or this body of mine getting older, but these past couple of years I’ve noticed more than any other time how lacking in energy I’d become.

If you read my last post on lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks I mentioned the bonus of this newly discovered way of eating has been the boost in my energy.

It hasn’t dropped either. This past week I’ve noticed greater improvements in my energy and that fog that I’d mentioned that had lifted, well it seems that there’s even more heaviness that’s been cleared.  Yeah!

So here’s my three step plan on How To Get More Energy

Eat Clean – plenty of fruits and vegetables (organic), nuts, seeds, healthy fats. To the greatest degree possible remove all processed foods, especially soda and processed meat. If you’re serious about figuring out how to get more energy check out this detailed plan.

Exercise – choose a form of exercise that you really enjoy as it will make it a lot easier to stick with for the long term. My exercise of choice is Yoga. When I’m on purpose (which I am right now) I go 5-6 times per week. Interestingly, by following an Eat Clean plan this has given me such a boost that my yoga practise has advanced in leaps and bounds.

Have Fun – most people these days are so caught up with work that they don’t take the time to nurture themselves. It’s critical to your overall mental well being to take some you time to “fill back up”. Carving out time in your day when you do things just for you that you find fun and uplifting will be an instant key factor in how to get more energy.

Go for a walk or a dip in the ocean, take 20 minutes out to unplug with a good book, pop on some music and belt out some tunes, have a massage, catch up with your bestie for a cuppa (or if you live a thousand miles away like I do, then download on the phone).

I don’t know about you, but there have been times when I’ve felt guilty for taking time out for me. The pressures of juggling work with motherhood (or fatherhood or just being a person trying to get along in this busy busy world of ours) can be daunting and we can lose site of the basic fundamental practises that keep us at the top of our game.

So there you have it, my three step plan on how to get more energy!

P.S. a morning coffee is a great kick start too :o)  I’m down to one cup a day, but I do enjoy that one cup!
